I was raised on Pitt Island (Chatham Islands) on an amazing slice of paradise called the Rauceby Farm. I have 10 siblings and the most wonderful parents! My whakapapa is Taranaki, Nga Mahanga A Tairi, and I also have a close affiliation with Ngati Mutunga O Wharekauri.

I am married to Darcy Kemp and we have three wonderful children. We currently live in Timaru. (I refer to “we” in this blog- and that refers to Darcy and I)

I work at the Pleasant Point Health Center, which we purchased in 2014 (with another couple, and then we bought it outright in 2017) We are a small team with myself as lead clinician and a registered nurse (practice nurse), receptionist, and part time manager .

My interests include: walking and getting out and surrounding myself in nature . The bush and the sea are two of my favorite places.  Mindfulness and writing  are my “quiet” hobbies. I am what is referred to as an “active relaxer” (by my family!)

Other activities I am involved in include the New Zealand Nursing Council as a board member and the Rural General Practice Network Board member.
